Walden: Howl – Festival for Sound, Music, and Performance
At a time when diversity is increasingly pushed to the margins and spaces of in-between are under strain, we need places to gather – not in separation, but in connection.

Walden: Howl is such a place. A day in the forest where voices do not stand apart, but rise together. Howl is a wake-up call, a beginning, a call to battle – for what binds us. For alliances that create resilience. For rituals that remind us of who we are – and who we might become, together.

Between forest and wilderness, on Berlin’s outskirts, runs a stretch of open sand – a remnant of the former “death strip,” inscribed with traces of history. In performances, conversations, concerts, and installations, artists shape a space for that which needs no explanation to unfold its power. A choreography of connection, a collective sound of vulnerability and strength.

The Walden Festival is a project by Künstlerhof Frohnau. This year marks its fifth edition. Curated by Kaya Behkalam, Otto Oscar Hernandez Ruiz, Katja Hock & SHIN Hyo Jin.
